This Wednesday, February 28, one of the most anticipated moments for soccer fans began: the CONMEBOL Copa América United States 2024™ already has tickets on sale for the group stage, quarterfinals, semifinals and match for 3rd place of the 48th edition of a tournament that has history (it is the oldest national team in the world) and a great present, with the most important figures on the planet competing in it.
Tickets for the final, to be played on July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens (Florida), will go on sale at a later date.
The tournament will begin on June 20 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with the duel between Argentina (the defending champion) and Concacaf 5, which will be decided in the duel between Trinidad and Tobago and Canada. Neither of the two Concacaf teams has played in the CONMEBOL Copa América™ and therefore it will be their absolute debut in the competition. The group stage will last until July 2.
The quarterfinals will be played between July 4 and 6, the semifinals will be on July 9 and 10. The match for third place will be played on July 13.
The detailed schedule, game by game, to know what is coming can be found here.
In the traditional history of the CONMEBOL Copa América™, this edition will have the particularity that there will be 6 Concacaf teams, just like what happened in 2016. This time, qualification took place through the Concacaf Nations League. The United States, Mexico, Panama and Jamaica are the four classifieds. They will be joined, on the one hand, by Canada or Trinidad and Tobago and on the other, by Costa Rica or Honduras, in matches to be played on March 23.
There will be 16 teams, the maximum number – along with the 2016 edition – of a tournament with 108 years of history.
The groups:
Group A: Argentina, Peru, Chile and Concacaf 5
Group B: Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela and Jamaica
Group C: United States, Uruguay, Panama and Bolivia
Group D: Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Concacaf 6
To all the condiments already mentioned, we add that this tournament will be played by the last FIFA World Champion: Argentina. In total, there are 10 World Cups won by the participating teams: Brazil (5), Argentina (3) and Uruguay (2).
Among the 14 stadiums, it is worth remembering that it will be across the entire United States: four stadiums on the West Coast, five stadiums in the Middle Country and five stadiums on the East Coast.
Everything is ready for the CONMEBOL Copa América United States 2024™ to be an unforgettable tournament, one that will remain in the great books of history. Are you going to miss it?
