Sporting KC fell 2-3 against Miami in their match for week 8 of the United States – MLS 2024. The goals of the game for the local team were scored by Erik Thommy (5′ 1T and 12′ 2T). While the away goals were scored by Diego Gómez (17′ 1T), Lionel Messi (5′ 2T) and Luis Suárez (25′ 2T).

A great play by Sporting KC, 5 minutes into the first half, was what moved the scoreboard thanks to Erik Thommy. Tim Leibold gave the ball to the midfielder, who whipped a shot from the semicircle to the right post.
