Real Madrid seals the LaLiga title with heroic victory against FC Barcelona

Jude Bellingham scored the goal of the 3-2 victory for the meringues at the Santiago Bernabéu, which practically gives them the Spanish championship

FC Barcelona’s nightmare week was concluded this Sunday by Real Madrid, its historic rival, at the Santiago Bernabéu with a 3-2 victory that practically sealed the LaLiga title. The meringues added 3 points that place them at the top of the Spanish tournament with 81 points, 11 more than the Barça club (70).

What began with the tragedy that occurred against PSG and the embarrassing victory of Real Madrid against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on penalties in the Champions League, was ended by the victory of the whites in the Clásico in front of their fans, who are now counting the days to celebrate the league championship.
Although the Catalan club took the lead just 6 minutes in with a header from Andreas Christensen, Real Madrid came back on the scoreboard when they wanted to.

A penalty sought by Lucas Vázquez – which did not exist – was taken by Vinícius Júnior at 18 minutes, a goal that tied the score at 1-1 at half-time.

In what was a match in which the Real Madrid players showed fatigue, FC Barcelona took the reins in the first minutes of the second half. And in the end the visitors dominated possession 53.3% to 46.7%. However, the meringues had 8 shots on goal, while Xavi Hernández’s team had 6.

The match was also conditioned by a “ghost goal” by Lamine Yamal that the VAR did not consider valid. Remember that LaLiga does not have ‘Hawk Eye’ technology, which could have influenced the final result.
Despite everything, Fermín López made the Blaugranas dream in the 69th minute with a goal after a rebound from Andriy Lunin, but the joy barely lasted seconds.

Vázquez took advantage of another mistake by João Cancelo – the biggest one reported in the fateful week in Catalonia – to score 2-2 and Jude Bellingham took advantage of a counterattack started by Brahim Díaz to seal the 3-2 victory.

Real Madrid will celebrate its LaLiga title in a few weeks, while FC Barcelona will begin its planning for next season now, without Xavi and several players who do not deserve to wear the historic Barça kit.
