After 41′ of the first half, Nashville SC showed their dominance of the game and took the lead after a header from Sam Surridge. With the score against, Philadelphia Union showed its character and achieved a spectacular comeback with a goal from play and another from a header by Julián Carranza (16′ of the second half) and Daniel Gazdag (44′ of the same stage), sealing with success a final result of 2 to 1.

Daniel Gazdag’s performance positioned him as the most outstanding player of the match. The Philadelphia Union midfielder scored 1 goal and looked for the opposite goal with 3 shots.

Julián Carranza was another of the outstanding players. The Philadelphia Union forward showed his best level by scoring 1 goal and finishing 4 times into the opponent’s goal.

Several infractions in the middle of the field forced the pace of the game to be cut. There was only one card, in the 83rd minute of the second half Aníbal Godoy received a yellow card.

Nashville manager Gary Smith stopped the one-time starter with a 3-5-2 formation with Elliot Panicco in goal; Josh Bauer, Lukas MacNaughton and Daniel Lovitz on the defensive line; Alex Muyl, Aníbal Godoy, Dru Yearwood, Brian Anunga and Jacob Shaffelburg in the middle; and Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge in attack.

Víctor Rivas was appointed as the main referee of the match at the Geodis Park stadium.

On the next day Nashville will have a rest and will fulfill its free date and Philadelphia will play the away game against Atlanta United.
